Looking forward to: Finally getting to have an ultrasound once this insurance crap is done, and finding out the gender.

This week the baby is approximately the size of an avocado, at 3.53 oz in weight, and 4.57 inches in length.

"Even though he is still quite small, the little heart is pumping approximately 25 quarts of blood every day. He is continually becoming more active and is busy practicing all those movements that its tiny body has already learnt to perform. The bones inside his body are hardening and the tiny legs and arms are now completely formed. Even though his eyes are still closed, they are making little movements and even have the ability to sense changes in light through the eyelids. His flexible thumbs are now able to grasp, preparing for the day when that tiny hand will wrap around your finger."

*Still waiting to get my new insurance number/card, so I'm feeling super frustrated and stressed out. I still can't get in to do my ultrasounds until I get it, which has me pretty pissed off. Tomorrow I go back to the birthing center for a checkup. At least I'll get to hear the heartbeat again.

By far the worst day, this pregnancy to date..

I woke up feeling nauseas, and decided I would try to eat some chicken noodle soup to calm my stomach so that I could take one of my Zofran pills. Not but seconds after I finished all of the noodles, I immediately had to run and luckily found the kitchen sink (disposal side) and threw up every last bit of it. I immediately started to feel better and thought "good" it's all done. About 20 minutes later, it all started all over again. I threw up another two times, and finally made it down to the acid. Yuck. I felt like absolute hell. Meanwhile, my poor daughter just wants someone to play with and mommy is too sick to not only play with her, but to function. So I ended up having to call me (in full on bawling at this point) and ask her to come grab her because I couldn't even lift her to change her diaper, and Sophia is just screaming because she wants this and that. My mind went into meltdown. Luckily my mom was just down the road and came to get her. I grabbed Sophia to give her a hug before she left (all the while still bawling my eyes out..yay sickness and hormones!) and to tell her that none of this is her fault and that I love her, and she grabs my face and says "mommy, you sick. me play with grandma," and takes her little hands, and wipes away my tears "you happy now, me wipe your eyes." I love that kid so much and it broke my heart to have to send her away. I felt like the worst parent in the world, and cried for probably another good 45 minutes after she left. I was finally able to eat and hold it down long enough that I was able to take my pill and keep IT down. Luckily I'm feeling a lot better now, but my god, it was not a fun day. So grateful to having local family that loves the snot out of that girl. I hate having to get to such a point of desperation that I have to send her away. Kills me.

15 Weeks Pregnant With Baby #2:

How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain: ~4 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week:  Easter weekend
Miss anything? Not feeling sick every morning
Movement: No
Food cravings: Nothing at the moment.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just generic morning sickness
Gender: n/a
Labor signs: n/a
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, exhaustion, constipation, extra mucus
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy
Looking forward to: Taking Sophia to Magic Kingdom again next weekend.

This week the baby is approximately the size of a pear, at 2.47 oz in weight, and 3.98 inches in length.
"Your little one is now able to rub its eyes, yawn and even blink. If you eat or drink something that he doesn't like, you may notice a tug on the umbilical cord - not really, but he now has the ability to grasp the cord. His hairline is forming and hair is starting to grow on his head. Even the eyelashes and eyebrows are growing. If you're hoping to find out the sec of your baby, unfortunately it is still too early, but it won't take long. Even though your baby is hiccuping regularly, there is no sound produced as his windpipe is full of fluid at this stage. He can also hear sounds now."

This week, we also got to hear the baby's heartbeat again. :)

14 Weeks Pregnant With Baby #2:

How far along? 14 Weeks
Total weight gain: ~4 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week: An unplanned Zoo day with some friends and their daughter; getting the insurance issues worked out.
Miss anything? Not feeling sick every morning
Movement: Well, sort of..
Food cravings: Nothing at the moment.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just generic morning sickness
Gender: n/a
Labor signs: n/a
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, exhaustion, frequent urination again, constipation, bad nightmares
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy except during my daughter's tantrums
Looking forward to: All of the Easter festivities coming up this weekend.

This week the baby is approximately the size of a peach, at 1.52 oz in weight, and 3.42 inches in length.

"He is now twisting and turning all the tiny joints in the body, and continually moving around inside your uterus. Lanugo - the tiny hairs present all over a baby's body - is growing. These will eventually form the fingerprints pattern on his fingers. His skin is very translucent at this point and all the tiny veins in the body are visible. The lungs continue to develop and he is practicing breathing with the amniotic fluid on a regular basis. He may already be sucking its thumb by now. Your peach-sized baby can now frown, grimace and squint and his reflexes are becoming strong and more frequent. If you're expecting twins, it won't be long before you will feel like there is a wrestling match happening inside. His arms are now proportionate to the body, but the legs are still somewhat shorter."

*Had weird feelings twice now. Once this past week, once last week. I was at my parents' house, sitting at the dining room table, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, felt a huge kick, or at least what felt like one. Not like a little flutter like should start happening soon, but like the kind of kick I would get from Sophia when she was 30+ weeks. It was really strange and unexplainable.

**Still haven't gotten to have an ultrasound done yet. Had a lot of drama with insurance this past week, and was finally able to switch it to a plan that will actually be accepted by people and get me seen. Unfortunately, the processing they said could take up to 20 days. I'm praying it goes through sooner though as I need to get my dating scan done, so that I can get my penta scan done, which can only be done during a few short weeks that are coming up really quickly. They told me to call this coming Friday to see if it's been processed faster. The good news is, they are making it retroactive through the first of the year, so I'll be covered for everything I've had so far.

13 Weeks Pregnant With Baby #2:

How far along? 13 Weeks
Total weight gain: ~3 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? No
Best moment this week: Playdate day with a friend of mine, and Sophia's bestie
Miss anything? Having my emotions in check, not feeling like I'm losing it when Sophia throws tantrums
Movement: No
Food cravings: Nothing at the moment.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Starting to throw up again :(
Gender: n/a
Labor signs: n/a
Symptoms: nausea, exhaustion, frequent urination again, constipation
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy except during my daughter's tantrums
Looking forward to: Taking Sophia to Seaworld on Sunday.

The baby is roughly the size of a kiwi, weighing about .81 oz and approximately 2.91 inches in length.

"Your baby is now about the size of a kiwi. However, even at this size it is still difficult to determine the sex on an ultrasound. He now has the ability to open and close its fists and to make sucking movements with the muscles in the mouth - it's just a matter of time before the thumb and mouth meet. All the organs of his digestive system are developing into their final shapes including the stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines. Even his lungs are practicing breathing (but only from the amniotic fluid). The lungs won't actually breathe oxygen from the air until birth. The urine that he excretes into the amniotic fluid is not harmful and is quickly removed via the umbilical cord."
