37 Week Update:

So I am officially 37 weeks!

I haven't updated this in forever and I'm sorry for that. Things had been a little rough recently. Between the gestational diabetes, getting sick at Christmas because of my niece, and having my house torn apart because of rotten pipes, I haven't had much sleep or energy. Two weeks ago I went in for my Group B Strep test, which came back negative, which is good, and at the time was told I was completely closed up. This past week I went back and was told by a different Dr. in the practice that she is concerned about my weight gain, because I've been 140 lbs +/- 1 lb. since the beginning of October. So I met with my Diabetes nurse again and she told me not to worry, that my numbers are good, and not to stress. Then they sent me for my first NST, which went well, and was actually really neat. Starting next week, I will be going back for NST's on Tuesdays and Fridays until Sophia arrives. I'm also meeting with the OB again on Wednesday and hopefully getting another ultrasound done to try and get an estimated weight for her, and check on how the placenta is aging.

As far as symptoms go, my nausea went away again, and as of these past few weeks, I've been feeling pretty gassy, excessively tired, crampy feeling in my lower parts, tight in my upper parts, and lots and lots of pressure, and needing to pee constantly. She is definitely running out of room, and I feel like the Braxton Hicks contractions are starting to get closer and stronger the past two days. That has me both excited and anxious. I wrote out the list for my hospital bag, and picked up a few more things that I needed for it yesterday. The plan is to get that completely packed by the end of tomorrow. David has been working on her crib and has come a long way. I picked up a dresser for cheap at the SPCA, and have been refurbishing it. It should be done and ready here for use by the end of next week. Renee and I set up her awesome swing yesterday, and we've got the car seat/stroller/high chair and glider all ready. The pack n' play is set up in our bedroom, and her closet it already all organized. I guess we're about as prepared as we'll get. It just feels like the time is FLYING by now. In just this next few short weeks, we will have a beautiful daughter! It's insane!
